Dear all,
The most beautiful stories arise from unexpected echoes.
In April 2024, we published our film ‘Passing on the beauty of life with Hervé Coves’. Shortly after it went online, we received a message from Romain Brouard. Inspired by this documentary portrait, he shared with us a slam poem of delicate poetic sensitivity, born of a memory from a hike where a friend marvelled at nature: ‘WHO made this?’.
His words and sensitivity touched us immediately. As we spoke with him, we discovered the fascinating journey of a former recruitment company director who made a complete U-turn to turn his passion – music – into his true calling.
In this 25-minute documentary, Romain, known by his stage name DIX MILLE, shares his journey with us in all its authenticity:
- His career change: From business owner to music creation and performing.
- The ‘small steps’ approach: How a small step can break a deadlock.
- The philosophy of perception: Passing on beauty to our children and nourishing our imaginations.
- Music as a channel: A medium for expressing the inner world and connecting humanity with life itself.
A change of heart and the magic of the ‘small step’
Having run his own recruitment business for several years, Romain had always felt a deep-seated calling towards music. In 2017, a personal journey led him to take the plunge: to leave the security of the business world behind in order to fully be himself and bring his music to life on stage.
“There’s nothing more joyful than living the life you want to live,
rather than through other people’s eyes,” says Romain
It was clear from the outset that we shared the same values of alignment, wonder and reconnection with life. So we set off to set up our cameras at his home with his family in Nantes for four days of filming, filled with simplicity, profound reflections and piano melodies.
Today, we are delighted to present this new and deeply inspiring portrait.
It is an invitation to slow down, to listen to your inner voice, to heal your wounds and to transform your everyday life through the simple power of the way you look at the world.
Pour yourself a cup of herbal tea, settle down comfortably, and let yourself be carried away by Romain’s words and music, as it is this music that will accompany you throughout the documentary, with a full slam performance as a bonus at the end!
What is this ‘small step’ he’s talking about that awaits us today? Let us know in the comments!
